This position opens up to a fourth year student. It is a fantastic and enjoyable role, with particular opportunities available to you including personal meetings with important architectural minds. Some of your tasks include devising a design brief for a student design competition, meeting with teaching staff to address issues raised by students, ensuring KASA members have a prolific and engaging calendar of events. The position requires good communication and organisational skills and an ability to build a good rapport with fellow students, architects and teaching staff. Not only is this experience invaluable on a CV, it gives you the chance to gain proficiency in these skills which are very useful in practice.
Lecture Chair
In this role you will be in control of our lecture series, one of the focal events in the KASA calendar. You will talk to other KASA members about who they would like to invite to the school and speak to us. You will be liaising with architects, designers, graphic artist, philosophers, and so on to build an engaging list of speakers for your fellow students. As well as this, you will organise life drawing classes, discussion forums and portfolio clinics. This is open to three second year students with good communication skills and an enthusiasm for networking.

The merchandising officer organises KASA merchandise items such as our membership wristbands and hoodies. Designing the KASA hoodie and the KSA leavers' hoodie are included in your responsibilities as well as organising orders and making sure our members get what they want. If you are interested in business and merchandise and have a creative flair, this is the position for you. Open to one Second year student or one fourth year student.
Media
The marketing officer produces the image of KASA. To ensure that all of our members are kept informed of our movements, you will design posters for events, advertise our membership and hoodie offers and ensure that the lecture hall is set up for recording our lecture events. Open to one Second year student or one fourth year student.

The role of the treasurers is one of the most important functions within KASA. In this position you will give KASA the means to do what we need to do for our members. You will devise fund raising methods and seek the sponsorship of architectural practices and other relevant parties. This is open to one fourth year student and one second year student.
External Operations
The role of the external operations officer is to keep a finger on the pulse of anything related to architecture outside of KSA. They will keep in touch with our RIBA rep and inform our students about architecture events and lectures. They will also get involved in fund raising events and engage with other faculties in the university to create an inclusive environment with opportunities to network with other students for various projects. First Year Rep
The first year rep ensures that those new to studying architecture have a voice within KSA. They will be available to listen to their fellow first year students and relay any ideas or concerns to the rest of the KASA executive. Open to one first year student.
Social Chair
The function of the social chair is to encourage the sense of community within KSA by organising social events throughout the year. You will be liaising with camus bars to set up appropriate drinks promotions and special offers for our members as well as arranging different events like football matches or paintballing which our members are not required to drink alcohol at. WELCOME TO KASA! 2011-2012
A warm welcome to all new coming students of KSA!
We are the officially sanctioned Kent School of Architecture (KSA) student organisation. We are a growing and developing association established to promote all aspects of spatial design, whether interior or exterior, ‘for the students, by the students!’
In previous years we have organised a KASA open lecture series featuring notable visiting speakers such as:
- Haworth Tompkins Architects
- Rogers, Stirk & Harbour
- Article 25
- WS Atkins
- Studio 8 Architects
- Guy Hollaway Architects
- AC Deign Company
- Duggan Morris Architects
In addition to this, we have raised sponsorship, organised socials, and initiated design competitions.
This year we hope to build upon the success of our predecessors and provide a more diverse lecture series that will cover many topics across architecture, as well as graphic design, product design, and art
